Movie News: The 2021 Oscars Will Still Be Held in Person

This has been a crazy, unpredictable year. Normal lives have been suspended and will be for a little bit longer. However, the Academy announced on Wednesday that the 2021 Academy Awards will still be held in person.

Some people were wondering if the award show would even happen this year, because there have been so few movies. However, there will be some changes. Oscar season was pushed back in July, meaning that they show will be held on April 25 as opposed to late February/early March when it's usually held. The cutoff date for movies that could be nominated was moved to February 28, 2021.

The Academy Awards will be held in a 3,400 seat theater in LA. The Academy told the press that they moved the dates back to "provide the flexibility filmmakers need to finish and release their films without being penalized for something beyond anyone's control."

This is the 93rd Annual Academy Awards. As stated earlier, it will take place on April 25.
